counting and probability
Learn how to count through over 100 fabulous problems from various prestigious math competitions. Counting is at the heart of solving challenging probability problems.
At a simple level, kids will count by simply listing all possible solutions. This quickly becomes inelegant as the numbers become bigger and the problems more complex. Through these varied problems, kids are encouraged to develop their own elegant methods of visualizing the possibilities and then counting. As with all Pi Q Math curriculum, procedures are not taught until a child has a solid, deep and flexible understanding of the foundational concepts and has started to develop their own strategies to tackle counting problems.
